Title: Urban Wild Family Nature Journaling

Location: Shannon Terrace is in Fish Creek Provincial Park. This site is accessed from 130 ave SW. We will be meeting at the parking lot at the end of the park road near the washrooms.

Description: Join your host Alex O'Rourke, founder of Urban Wild Family Nature Club, to experience an engaging recipe for exploring nearby nature as a family. Plus pick up some fun nature based activities and start a nature journal as a family in the process! All ages welcome. Distance and pace planned for the 5 and under crowd.

Title: Little Newcomers Nature Taster
Description: Our littlest newcomers to Canada will have the opportunity to explore their new country from the ground up! The daycare located at the Centre for Newcomers in the NE is welcoming Upstream Forest School to take their children outside for the first time!  We will discovering the wilds of Canada from a very urban location - the parking lot!  Bugs, hardy plants, shadows, our senses and nutritious movement will be our curriculum, and the children will be our guides!   We are excited to be able to leave a bug-exploring kit with the daycare to use in the future!

Chalk painting, scavenger hunts, picnics at community parks & side yard and snacks will also be outside. Outdoor races - Bubble - 3 legged - don't drop it - obstacle.

Description: We will be setting up play dates in each of the 4 quadrants of the city and inviting the day home providers we support to bring the children for a morning of fun and exploration of the natural world! Snacks and water will be provided by the agency.

Title: Preschool Bike Day
Description: All Haysboro Community Preschool classes will be held outside for bike day. Students decorate their bikes, create licence plates, and ride on a paved course practicing their bike skills and knowledge. Students range in ages from 3-5.

Description: We have been adding many loose parts, natural materials and other enhancements to our outdoor play space for up to 142 children daily. We will be planning exciting experiences and setting up inspiring invitations for all our age groups to GET OUTSIDE AND PLAY!

Description: On Friday, June 22 our school will host its final full-school, full-day Outdoor Play Day for this school year.  Students will explore freely with loose parts in our school field and the forested park across the street - complete with hills, trees, rocks and a creek to cool off their toes!  The adult "play rangers" will supervise, but not interfere with the play, as students are guided to make choices that feel right for their level of risk tolerance.

Description: The Early Years Fair is comprised of local organizations, businesses and individuals who offer services to families with children 0-6. The focus is Unplug and Play!! With the additional of Get Outside and Play we will have Hanna Literacy in our local Hector Kinghunter Park offering a Scavenger hunt Story Walk!! The park is large and offers abundant space for the children and there families to hop, skip, stomp, run and play while retrieving a story! They will take a copy of the book home as a free gift.Once they have worked up an appetite, families are welcome to partake in an enjoyable meal in the BBQ Gazebo.
