Call for Directors

The Alberta Council for Environmental Education (ACEE) seeks additional volunteer directors to guide our work, through serving as a member of our Board.

ACEE is an Alberta society with charitable status, and a mission to work in collaboration with others to advance environmental education in Alberta - a topic that includes both energy and climate education. Click here to view our vision, mission, and values.

Our board follows the governance model, supporting and advising on the strategic direction of our organization, in support of our talented staff team. The Board meets virtually on a regular bi-monthly or quarterly basis, and board members are invited to leverage their competencies through service on a number of subcommittees.

We are particularly interested in recruiting board members with expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Policy advocacy
  • Strategic educational programming
  • Best practices in non-profit management
  • Financial oversight
  • Leveraging their network to help raise funds
  • Government relations

If you’re interested in playing a key role in advancing environmental education in Alberta, we invite you to email us any inquiry you might have, and/or send an expression of your interest (subject heading: ACEE Board position) to Executive Director Gareth Thomson [Gareth (at) abcee.org] by no later than 11 October 2020.  You’ll hear from us shortly thereafter, with next steps.

ACEE is an equal opportunity employer, and embraces the principles of diversity and inclusion.  For more information about our organization, programs, and impact, please visit us online at www.abcee.org.

Thank you for your consideration!
