About the Role

The Coordinator, Education Programs is responsible for delivering program curriculum in classroom, and virtual classroom settings. The Coordinator guides students through engaging lesson plans that appeal to all learning types and empowers youth to take personal actions toward a sustainable world. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to fulfill this role and represent Elements Society in a professional manner. Candidates who have experience working with children and youth, strong knowledge of environmental subjects, and are comfortable with inquiry-based learning are preferred.

The Coordinator, Education Programs is expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with staff, program partners and teachers to deliver quality education programs
  • Go above and beyond to create a positive learning environment and experience for students, teachers and parents
  • Demonstrate personal leadership, integrity and professionalism
  • Fulfill administrative functions required for program success
  • Be able to lift and transport program materials weighing up to 20kg
  • Assist with program development/adaptation, marketing, communications, fund development and other functions as required

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience delivering education programs to children and youth (Grades K-12) in classroom and virtual settings
  • An understanding of key environmental subjects
  • Strong personal leadership skills and comfort taking on increasing responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills to successfully engage students and interact with parents and other stakeholders
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changes in work with limited supervision
  • Collaborative approach to effectively contribute to a team-based work environment
  • Access to a vehicle to transport program materials
  • Ability to develop and deliver programming in both French and English preferred
  • Previous experience in the not-for-profit industry preferred
  • Experience operating Google Suite and utilizing technology in the classroom preferred
