Delivering Impactful Environment and Energy Education Programs

We all focus on different topics and often do our work in isolation. This workshop will help us share and learn from each other, provide insights on best practices and help us deliver programs that help enact the change we are all seeking. It will build on the work from last year with climate change education. Part of the session will focus on barriers, and as a regional and provincial network how can we help ‘move the needle’ to better enable environmental and energy education in Alberta. In this workshop, you will…

  • Receive tools to help deliver impactful environmental, energy education and climate change education.
  • Network to share and learn from each other to increase effectiveness and collaboration.
  • Identify barriers that currently stand in the way of delivering environment and energy education and help identify a common agenda that removes barriers and advances environmental and energy education.

“Schools should prepare us for the future, not the past. The future of the world will be built on sustainability. If we learn what sustainable technologies are available when we are in school, we will be able to help shape the future of global sustainability when we graduate.”

- Quinn, student at Jasper Place high school in Edmonton
