Grade 1

Programs are offered for teachers in Northern Alberta in the Slave Lake area, are curriculum-linked, and cater to K-9 Science, Science 20 & Biology 20, and CTS Forestry. 

Praxis Outreach Society offers science kits & resources, lesson plans, science fair support, and career exploration days for teachers and students in the Medicine Hat area.

Telus World of Science provides a wide variety of programs for Educators including Classroom Programs, Science in Motion, Science School and a Digital Scavenger Hunt! 


Beaverhill Bird Observatory offers curriculum aligned field trip programs and classroom outreach (virtual or in-person) to Kindergarten-Grade 12, as well as other children/youth groups and child care. They are able to travel across Alberta, and are able to do so when multiple classrooms/schools are booked in the same area. Coordinate with fellow teachers and request Beaverhill to come to you! 

Based in Lacombe County, Ellis Bird Farm provides field trip programs to elementary schools in Central Alberta. Field trips focus on birds, wetlands, plants, and insects.

Based in Calgary, Nature's Ride and Ciclomanías provide energy, waste, and art workshops. Visit their website to learn more and book a workshop.

Glenbow Ranch provides in school and field trip programs for Elementary Schools, and custom programs for higher grades. Programs include: Discover Archaeology, Explore Grasslands, and Explore Pond Program.

High School EcoForce Leadership Club: EcoForce is a program for Calgary youth who are looking to become environmental leaders in their communities. 3-5 Spring Sessions offered in April-June.

The Alberta Tomorrow simulator allows students to explore Alberta's resources and land in the past, and make predictions for the future. Students can create and test their own future based on their environmental and economic goals. There are also simulations about Alberta glaciers and climate change. With the Climate Change Module, students can make future scenarios with mild, medium or hot climate change profiles.

Telus Spark is always updating their programs. Check back every August for new programs in a variety of environmental topics, such as "Backyard Ecologists" (K-1), "Water Filters" (Gr.4), "Wetland Inquiry" (Gr. 5), "Sparking Circuits" (Gr.5), "Water for All" (Gr. 8), "Electricity Blocks" (Gr. 9), "Pipeline Challenge" (Gr. 7), & "Soil Processes" (Gr. 9).
