Greenest School in Canada

Lacombe Composite High School received the Greenest School in Canada award in 2018 from the Canada Green Building Council.

David Dodge with Green Energy Futures wrote three stories on Lacombe Composite High School's EcoVision program - the program that helped them receive this recognition.

He visited the school in November 2019 while presenting to students and Energy Ambassadors as part of the Battle River Watershed Alliance's Energy Ambassador tour. He was so inspired by the students and teacher Steven Schultz that he wrote three stories for Green Energy Futures. The first is the video link below.

Check out the complete story and suggestions on how to create these kind of programs in your own school.

“Schools should prepare us for the future, not the past. The future of the world will be built on sustainability. If we learn what sustainable technologies are available when we are in school, we will be able to help shape the future of global sustainability when we graduate.”

- Quinn, student at Jasper Place high school in Edmonton
