Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation provides curriculum-linked field trips for Grades 1-9. 

The John Janzen Nature Centre offers programs for elementary, junior high, and customizable programs for high school students in the Edmonton area. All programs are linked to curriculum, and cover various topics including animals, trees, ecosystems, and wetlands. 

Dogo News provides kid-friendly articles covering various topics surrounding climate change and the environment. These articles can be found in the "Science" and "Environment" categories.

Energy Revealed 

Energy Revealed is GreenLearning's energy efficiency and climate action program, designed to make energy visible to students. Using real energy data from school or home, students develop the knowledge and skills to be energy efficiency experts through hands-on, meaningful learning. ACEE was a partner during the Alberta pilot program.

Leap Into Action! was created by the BC Conservation Foundation and Wild BC for teachers and is full of lesson plans to help prepare, inspire and support students in conducting age-appropriate environmental action projects, including skill-building activities and tools and real-life case studies. It is also a useful guide for programs outside the classroom setting.

Common Ground is a documentary-drama that depicts an interaction between an Aboriginal Hunter and an Alberta Fish and Wildlife Officer. Featuring commentary from traditional Aboriginal Hunters and leadership from Alberta’s Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Branch, Common Ground explores their historical and contemporary relationship - and the common ground they stand on. 

This video may serve as an entry-way into discussions surrounding wildlife conservation and Aboriginal hunters' and Fish and Wildlife Officers' shared goal of conserving Alberta's wildlife. 

Work Wild provides lesson plans for Grade 6: Trees & Forests, CALM 20, and CTS Forestry. Resources are easy to download and include interactive features and videos as well. 

The Kerry Wood Nature Centre and Fort Normandeau in Red Deer offer a range of curriculum- based programs for K-12. Topics include: plants and animals, life cycles, geology, and wetlands.

With two lakes and abundant wildlife, the Kerry Wood Nature Centre is an ideal spot to experience nature with your class. 

The Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation offers programs that can be adjusted to all Grades.

Topics include: Adaptation, Bat Basics, Birds of Prey, Supremely Skunks, Wetlands Wildlife, Who's in Your Background?, Wildlife Rescue, World of Owls, and Virtual Tours of the hospital and rehabilitation center.

Programs are offered at your location or the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, Ralph Klein Park, Reader Rock Garden or a location of your choice. Topics focus on many areas, including wildlife, insects, wetlands, rocks, gardens, biological diversity, water, seasons, forests, & air.

Teachers can also rent a free nature kit for 1 week, that they can use for outdoor learning/walking field trips with their class.
