Exploring By The Seat Of Your Pants aims to inspire the next generation of scientists, explorers and conservationists. We do this by bringing science, exploration, adventure and conservation into classrooms through virtual speakers and field trips with leading experts across the globe.

The Leg Up Foundation Education Program, in partnership with Nutrien, presents the GROWING THE NEXT GENERATION© School Tours Education Program. The school tours program features highly interactive sessions geared toward the grades 4-6 curriculum that focus on agriculture, wetland ecosystems, horse anatomy, horse health and welfare, equine history and the importance of bees to our ecosystem.

Programs take place in May and June each year.

Let's Talk Science classroom workshops cover environmental and energy topics, such as needs of animals, electricity, renewable energy and weather. 

The Royal Tyrrell Museum offers a variety of school programs, including field trips and virtual presentations which teach students about the land and biological diversity. Some programs are also available in French. 

The Jungle Farm near Red Deer provides field trip programs for elementary students. 

Spring: Pollination and plant growth.

Fall: Plant and animal seasonal behavior changes.

 

 

Teacher's Pet provides in-school field trips covering environmental topics, including: renewable energy, building birdhouses, wetlands, plants, waste, natural resources, and animal life cycles & conservation. 

The City of Edmonton provides Waste Management Centre Tours (Gr. 4-12) and classroom programs on waste, recycling, and composting (Gr. 4-6), as well as Junior High and High school presentations upon request. 

The Earth Rangers Clubs program is made up of elementary school-age students and educators, who have committed to taking action in helping animals and the environment. We have created a free and easy to use platform for eco clubs to track their activities or for new clubs to be started.

Earth Rangers provides integrative lesson plans for all grades in science, art, math, and physical education on topics ranging from wetlands, land & animal conservation, to gardening and outdoor activities. 

YYC’s Young Citizen Scientists program will come into your classroom, introduce your students to the fun world of Citizen Science, and teach them to make and submit observations to a citizen science platform. Learn more and apply here! 

Beauvais lake provides school programs in Lethbridge and Southern Alberta classrooms from Gr. 2-12 on a variety of topics on plants & animals, biological diversity, and water.
